Amazon today announced Alexa for Hospitality, a new experience offered by invitation to hoteliers that brings simplicity and convenience to hotels, vacation rentals, and other hospitality locations. Using the Amazon Echo in their room, guests can now ask Alexa for hotel information, contact the hotel to request guest services, play music in their room, and more. It can also take the place of the in-room phone, can run a variety of third-party apps, and can be configured to control smart room features including thermostats and TVs.
For hotels, Alexa for Hospitality helps deepen guest engagement through seamless voice-first experiences that offer new ways for guests to access services and amenities during their stay. Hotels will also have access to analytics and reporting to measure guest engagement and make adjustments based on what guests are actually using.
An increasing number of people are using voice-activated technology in their homes, and this option enables hotels to offer that kind of at-home experience for guests staying at hospitality properties.
Alexa for Hospitality is available to hospitality providers by invitation starting today with Marriott International, a launch partner for this new product. Marriott International is introducing the new experience at select properties in Marriott Hotels, Westin Hotels & Resorts, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Aloft Hotels, and Autograph Collection Hotels starting summer 2018. WorldVue is an approved GRE vendor for Marriott Hotels.
